When you’re talking modern, stylish design that is also innovative and functional, you’re talking Scandinavia. So, to put a modernized twist on two streetwear staples, the One Star and the US military woodland camouflage pattern, Converse found the ideal collaborative partners in Stockholm based retailer Sneakersnstuff.
The US Army Engineer Research and Development Laboratory, ERDL for short, developed “leaf” pattern is one of the most recognizable camouflage variations in the world. Since camouflage patterns of all stripes have been applied to footwear on countless occasions, Converse and Sneakersnstuff aimed to put a new twist on these timeless favorites.
The camouflage pattern seen on the Sneakersnstuff One Star is constructed from different sude and leather components. The patchwork construction gives a varied, three dimensional texture to the distinctive pattern, one that stands out from the standard graphic print application.
The collaboration’s accompanying apparel, featuring co-branding applied in the style of utilitarian military identification, adds a modern, graphic element to the remixed military style.
