Back in February, Adidas premeired their latest NMD silhouette, the City Sock 2, in a collaborative release with KITH and Naked. It sold out almost instantly, so if you didn’t get a good look at the NMD CS2 before, here’s a reintroduction.
As the name would suggest, the City Sock is a minimalist interpretation of the supremely popular NMD that places an emphasis on the lifestyle, aesthetic aspects of the shoe. A laceless, textured Primeknit upper with an ankle cuff inspired by a kimono’s neckline, makes a striking impression, as do the Primeknit uppers.
For the “Ronin Pack” edition of the shoe, Adidas utilizies decorative patterns like angular lines and polka dots that emphasize the shoe’s kimono inspiration while complimenting the minimalist aesthetic. A new, translucent outsole, and premium leather heel tab put the finishing touches on a refined, modern look.
