For decades, the basketball sneaker industry has been dominated by the likes of Nike and Adidas, as brands like Puma seemingly took the back seat. But, much to any sneakerhead’s surprise, this Fall, Puma is ready to change that narrative and reputation, announcing that they will be re-launching their long-dormant basketball line. With signings from promising rookies, such as Marvin Bailey III, DeAndre Ayton, and Michael Porter, the brand aims to delve into a market that, up until now, they have strayed far from.

Introducing the brand new Clyde Court Disrupt, the shoe draws influence from the classic Puma Clyde. Of course, this time around, Puma adds contemporary elements to the classic silhouette, featuring a knit upper with a no-lace lacing system to allow for easy application. The brand’s state-of-the-art hybrid cushioning technology on the sole ensures modern-day performance, while the bright, highlighter reddish-pink and yellow colorway helps to establish one of the funkiest basketball kicks this year has seen. They are then finished with a black knit, Puma formstripe graphic and a “1973” hit, a subtle nod to the first-ever release of the legendary Clyde.
