Anyone with even a passing background in Nike lore knows that after the Air Force 1 had run its initial course as a performance basketball shoe, it had to be brought back into continuous production by popular demand, which was practically unheard of at the time.
With fashion looming so large in the Air Force 1’s legend, a NikeLab produced, premium, lifestyle focused interpretation of the shoe is a perfect kick off to the Air Force’s 35th anniversary year.
The upper is comprised of a premium leather and ultra modern, synthetic textile combination. A black, Kevlar-like, jacquard style weave adorns the men’s option, while the women’s model sports a subtle, white herringbone pattern. A streamlined ankle strap, and a hidden, supportive inner bootie put the finishing touches on this reimagined legend.
