Nike’s Equality themed products aim to translate the sportsmanship ideal from the playing field into the real world. The campaign comes to Nike’s family of Black History Month themed footwear with a special, Martin Luther King Day edition of the Air Force 1.
The classic, monochrome leather look that has served the Air Force 1 so well over the years is the starting point for this special edition release. A totally blacked out down to the midsole colorway provides an ideal backdrop for the bold ‘Equality’ slogan that wraps around the heels, while the date of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech is embroidered on the inner tongue. Additional design details like the tumbled leather tongue label and the print under a translucent sole offer subtle embellishments to the standard Air Force design.
