Needles is Japanese design maven Keizo Shimizu’s almost avant garde take on vintage and utilitarian clothing. Repurposing is taken to an extreme, as vintage garments and fabrics are fashioned into entirely new garments, blending a classic aesthetic with a progressive, contemporary sensibility.
Military outerwear has been repurposed as fashion for decades. With their unique tailoring, Needles achieves this much more directly than usual. The polyester taffeta sheen on the Stand Collar Down Sur Coat turns cold weather pragmatism into Cold War chic.
