The world was a very different place in the year 2001, and sneakers were no exception. With internet commerce at a significantly less advanced stage of its development, and interest in sneakers still firmly rooted in subculture territory, it was still possible to have a geographically exclusive release that many people would never have access to, creating legends in the process.
This was definitely the case with that year’s deep forest colored, Air Force 1 B’s. Part of the ‘B’ range of products designed by Nike.co.jp, the exclusively available in Asia Air Force 1 B’s sported a Swoosh scaled back to outline form and a lush, dark green with burgundy accents colorway. During the intervening years, the forest green Air Force 1 B’s became something of a collector’s holy grail.
Almost two decades later, a green light escapes from a hidden, subterranean cavern, as the “Hong Kong” Air Force 1 officially returns.
