The latest joint effort from NikeLab and masters of technical functionality, Acronym, is a forward-looking take on the ultimate Nike basketball icon, the Air Force 1 that combines the iconic looks of the Air Force with the modern, utilitarian aesthetic of the trendsetting German brand.
The classic, familiar high top, ankle strap version of the Air Force 1 serves as the launching pad. The silhouette is extended into a zip-up, high-cut boot, while the ankle strap takes on a militaristic bent, going from simple nylon to a full-fledged lock down compression buckle strap.
Boot laces, Acronym branding on the heel and tongue, and serial number style naming, the model is officially called the DAF1, put the finishing touches on a project that takes the Air Force 1 into entirely new territory.
